DUI / DWI intake · Managed by VoxLead
DUI and DWI intake that never misses the night shift
DUI and DWI arrests tend to happen late at night and on weekends, and the license clock can start the same night. VoxLead answers those calls for your firm, takes the details a DWI attorney asks first, and books the consultation before the caller tries the next firm.
Why DUI and DWI firms lose clients to voicemail
DUI and DWI callers shop fast. They search on a phone right after the arrest and call down the list until a firm answers. In Texas the driver has 15 days from the license suspension notice to request an ALR hearing, so a call that waits until Monday can cost the client the hearing and cost your firm the case.

Matters the intake covers
- First-offense DUI / DWI
- Repeat offenses
- Breath or blood test refusal
- License suspension and ALR hearings
- Commercial driver (CDL) cases
- Intoxication assault
- Underage DUI
What your attorneys get from every call
Your firm approves the questions. These are where most firms start, and we change them to match how you work.
- Who was arrested, when, and in which county
- Whether it is a first offense
- Whether a breath or blood test was taken or refused
- Whether the license was taken, and the date to request a hearing
- Whether the driver holds a commercial license
- Custody status, bond and any court date
- Best callback number and time
What happens on a DUI and DWI intake call
The same eight steps on every call, so nothing depends on who happened to pick up.
01
The call is answered
Day, night, weekend or overflow. The intake specialist says it is the firm's intake assistant and that the call may be recorded.
02
Caller details are taken
Name, the best callback number, and whether a voicemail or text to that number is safe.
03
The facts of the matter
Whether it is a first offense; Whether a breath or blood test was taken or refused; Whether the license was taken, and the date to request a hearing; Whether the driver holds a commercial license.
04
Names for your conflict check
Other parties, co-defendants or opposing parties are recorded for your firm to check. VoxLead never says a conflict is cleared.
05
Urgency rules are checked
Your rules decide what is urgent. Anyone in danger is told to call 911 first.
06
The attorney is alerted
Urgent intakes go to your on-call attorney by text and email straight away, and can be transferred if you allow it.
07
A consultation or callback is set
Booked on your calendar during the call, and the caller gets a confirmation text.
08
The intake is delivered
An attorney-ready summary goes to your team, and to Clio or HubSpot if you use them. If any step fails, VoxLead follows up rather than reporting success.
Urgent matters, and the lines it never crosses
Sent straight to your on-call attorney
- The driver is still in custody
- A license hearing deadline is close
- A court date in the next 48 hours
- A crash where someone was hurt
What the intake specialist never does
- Says whether to request a hearing or how to plead
- Comments on test results or the chance of keeping a license
- Gives legal advice of any kind
- Promises representation
VoxLead is not a law firm. It does not give legal advice, decide whether your firm takes a case, or create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney at your firm makes every one of those calls.
DUI / DWI intake questions
- Do you handle DWI as well as DUI?
- Yes. The intake uses the term your state uses. In Texas, for example, adult cases are DWI, and the intake asks about the DIC-25 notice and the 15-day ALR hearing deadline.
- Will it ask about the breath or blood test?
- Yes, and whether it was refused, whether the license was taken and whether the driver holds a commercial license. It records the answers. It never comments on them.
- Can callers book a consultation at 3 AM?
- Yes. The intake specialist books an attorney call on your Google Calendar or Cal.com and texts the caller a confirmation. In-custody calls also go to your on-call attorney.
